Agree with everything here…but can we mention how badly you are treated f you’re a worker in a white-collar shitty job and dare to need to use your benefits? In the US, your manager & HR will literally invent a layoff round/restructuring just for you! They can’t fire you, but dare to take short term disability for a surgery that doesn’t go well, and hope you never make a mistake again. (It won’t matter, you’re a dead man walking unless you’re some sort of pet employee). Now you’re driving up everyone’s medical insurance premiums and they’re understaffed before you took the time, so your co-workers want you gone and replaced too. Bye bitch!
