Do you think it’s useful, relevant, or kind to reference the author’s intellectual capacity and ability to describe her lived experience and and conclusion (after she’d researched the topic as well) by mentioning her (now treated and managed) diagnosis, simply because you disagree?

Nowhere in this article do I see the UK Samaritans mentioned, and they’ve been defended heavily in the comments.

In the US, the Samaritans also have helplines; however, they are mandated reporters, and by law, will contact the authorities if you disclose that you intend to commit suicide. (Most people in the US actually associate the Samaritans with roadside assistance).
