Do you think offering an example of engineered couples, selected just because they are so extreme so as to be a form of entertainment, with a pathology that they’d legally marry a stranger, on camera, and have this Frankenstein-marriage filmed, mockumentary-style…do you think these people aren’t narcissistic and exhibitionists and who knows what else - ? Are these your shining examples of men and women, growing and evolving in relationship? Because that’s not what they’re doing. Feminism has nothing to do with “building a brand” or “becoming an influencer” which is what they think they’re doing. I question the judgment of folks who site these and use this “context”, including those philosophers at your office.

The snickers at any bad outcomes is really because the premise for the show is idiotic and the participants really should have anticipated some self-inflicted wounds, but were greedy and self-serving, regardless of gender. Spectators simply chose to hate-watch.
