EAPs are NOT a safe place to disclose; many times, the “therapist” is actually a “counselor” and a direct employee of the company. They’re supposed to keep what you share “separate” but they’re actually part of the HR department and will freely tell you they cannot help/support you in any way that may “hurt” the company. Which means…not your friend.
