I agree. He opens with a neg, and when she isn’t delighted, she “grunts” her reply?! A person of any status, single or married, would be avoided by others and I believe that is where the snide aside, said under the breath, “Now I know why s/he/they’re single” is a fairly common turn of phrase. Not for nothing, this oblivious person took the time to write in, asking for advice, and stupidly gave away the clue: he’s a Dick.
