I agree with this.

A second observation/thought on the gender dynamic: although I have read/heard IRL many conversations about female “gold digging,” I’ve noticed far many more males doing “how much do you think that guy’s making?” judging/calculating, evaluating the value of everyone (else’s) house/car/toys/trips than women. They purposely all hang around the richest one like puppies and act like he’s some great role model or some such, hoping they can get some of what he has. It’s gross to watch.
