I am not the author here, nor do I speak for anyone but myself. I’m of the belief that the women who are described in your question are best described as “Henchmen for the Patriarchy” (that is my special name for them). They game the system to get the approval of the system-curators for personal gain, usually in the hopes of becoming a system-curator, or at least a member of the community. If you’re in the higher echelons, you’ll have more people under your control. Isn’t that the definition of a hierarchy? Isn’t that what success means in a capitalist economy? Have you ever seen an org chart? It’s literally based on supremacy and it SUCKS to be on the bottom. These women have been on the bottom and they are not going back! They know men don’t want to cede power and have no interest in equality. None. So they say, this is the system we have. If I can’t beat them, join them. I need dough like anybody else.

Wishes she had a gong, like on The Gong Show, but for stupid ideas (especially her own). Please don’t ask me what I think if you don’t want to know.
