I appreciate that you provided some nuance and definitely about colloquially used language and what it means when a clinician says it; I do think using the terms interchangeably really confuses things and makes it much harder for those suffering & victims to get the compassionate support and services necessary.

People THINK they understand what it means because they’ve heard it bandied about, but they have no idea of the ferocity of the true beast.
