I know a lot of people who try really hard, and give as much as they can to others in their families. I know people who give to gofundmes, work on volunteer fire departments and bring food to their sick friends, without even thinking about it, and for the most part, these are my blue collar/working poor friends. It's these same people who know when someone's family member is terminally ill, to band together and clean that person's house when that person is at a doctor's appointment and leave a tempting goodie at the house - not my well-off friends. I love my professional friends, too, don't get me wrong - but I rely on my 'poor people sensibilities' when it comes to helping people and it's my blue collar friends that are not helpless when things go sideways for me.

So I know that there is more to people than their ugly sides, and it breaks my heart that people don't understand that these terrible Republican policies combine with smug indifference from 'the other side' hurt/influence children that can be educated to be the future of better policies for our country.
