I think it’s different on a 1:1 basis (there are people with whom I’d not bother engaging with in that situation because they won’t go away) but the group dynamic of ghosting, as described here, in a workplace? That’s…totally different.

It’s a group bullying/ostracizing situation, intentionally singling out one person as a target.
