I’m not sure if you can recall this, but in the 80’s and 90’s girls & women were constantly coached not to be “needy” - so UNATTRACTIVE, so gross, such a straight path to dying alone and having cats eat your face. Those girls grew up and raised their daughters not to be “too needy” and to blast that message out loud and clear. There’s no winning.
