It is very interesting that oppressive, controlling, and overbearing parents who did not allow discussions (lip service) for the entirety of their child’s life can often, once boundaries are drawn and consequences rendered, blame their children for not opening a discussion and claim to be unaware of the problem, as if the adult child has never said anything. (More like their least favorite kid told them and they immediately dismissed them, like they always did, and that is the issue).
