Medicaid pays the doctors so little that they can actually lose money by accepting patients. It’s sad but true. Same thing with Tricare, which is what veterans have. Google your county’s FQHC’s -Federally Qualified Health Care practices - they deliver high quality health care and will refer if you ask, and they’ll have to see you. They’re usually pretty good (and you can try to find locations that are convenient or look better- they tend to have robust websites so you can scope them out ahead of time).
