People who raise their children in an authoritarian way - they make it clear that they don’t care what the child’s preferences or feelings are bc they’re the adults and they expect compliance are serving up delicious little tidbits to abusers of all types. What they call “strict” parenting is actually just chronic grooming for future abusive relationships.

Catholic schools, for example (and orphanages and those terrible homes for unwed mothers) were literally a pipeline for abusive homes and rapey priests. The yardstick beatings and ruler hand slaps were the tip of the shame iceberg.
