The paywalls are tough, and I have mixed feelings about it...writers need to make a living somehow...but are they paid fairly by the publications?

The advice column is traditionally one of the most popular features, which is why it's behind the paywall. But then it seems silly to pay for (mostly) that...Slate has a clever solution which is to have the 'regular' advice column be free and the 'uncensored' advice column with additional comments be for their paid subscribers, where the columnist says the less polite version, which is interesting.
