I agree - some truly manipulative people have exploited the fears of people who lived close to the edge and were tired of being victim-blamed for thier situation, and that safety nets didn't exist for them if they dared own a house or earn more than $15k a year is terrifying.

You don't think blue collar workers don't do the same math as the boss? who's the supervisor going to hire? My dad, who has to pay taxes and really wants benefits or a day laborer who could chop his own hand off and never complain or go to the doctor? My dad's family would band together and get a lawyer if workmans comp doesn't kick in, but that day laborer has no recourse, particularly if he's illegal. that's a huge advantage to an employer. Don't you think Rush isn't going to push that button to get his guy in office? HIS GUY WHO ACTUALLY DOES THAT SHIT?

knowing greedy corporations will always choose the cheapest labor to exploit and can always skirt laws to take advantage of immigrant labor is not comforting at all. The fact that this happens in our country, out in the open, because our political parties have no incentive to cooperate - they literally have us being assholes to one another so they don't have to work - is one more reason I can honestly say - support MAGA children. They are reachable.
