Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

I agree, I did not point out bad social behaviors of Republicans, of which I can name quite a few, as I was raised in an Evangelical horror show that spanned the socio-economic spectrum.

I also agree about pulling the ladder up - which I think many advantaged people do, regardless of political affiliation, but when I watch the news these days, Mitch and the Gang seem particularly avaricious and rapacious.

I also want to speak to your comment on wokeness - because I believe in the power of language. I'm sure you recall that being "PC" came into the mainstream (from educational/psychological modeling) out as a conscious effort to use 'non-violent communicaton' and 'descriptive language' in education and workplaces as we learned about trauma-informed care in the aftermath of Columbine in the 90's, and after learning about rape culture and ablism in the 70's.

How people are so angry about this now, particularly as we learn about how widespread racism, sexual abuse, and domestic violence is, how damaging childhood interactions are with police (particularly with non-white children), and how frankly traumatic it can be just to go to the doctor (can you ever forget Simone Biles' and the Olympic team's faces testifying to Congress - and they weren't even alone with that human stain) - is outragous - and I want you to know...yes. All of what you said.

Wishes she had a gong, like on The Gong Show, but for stupid ideas (especially her own). Please don’t ask me what I think if you don’t want to know.
