Unfortunately, sometimes you’re the only childless woman in a sea of moms of all ages, and regardless of how you dress, you are regarded as…not quite an adult? Like you don’t *really* understand anything in the whole world because you don’t have a child. It doesn’t matter what your experience, education, why you don’t have a child (which is no one’s business anyhow)…just groups of women with children generally do circle the wagons in a toned-down version of this attitude of this co-worker, which does make it harder to succeed at work: management think you “can’t get along with other women” when in fact, they treat you with suspicion & hostility because they don’t like your life choices and fear you may have an advantage, and therefore never miss an opportunity to bring you down a peg to ‘even things up.’
